About Our Program
PASRR In Kansas
Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) is a federally required screening for any person prior to admission into a Medicaid-certified nursing facility (NF), regardless of the source of payment. Persons with serious mental illness, intellectual disability, or a related condition have special protections under state and federal law to ensure that long-term services and supports are provided in the right setting to meet individual needs.
Our Acentra Health PASRR team is honored to have been selected by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) to support their Client Assessment Referral and Evaluation (CARE) Program as their new PASRR Level II Evaluation vendor! Our team will provide comprehensive Level II Evaluations for persons with suspected or confirmed serious mental illness (SMI), intellectual disability (ID), or a related condition (RC) prior to admission and upon significant change in condition when residing in NF settings. PASRR Level II evaluations are person-centered and assess nursing facility level of service needs and additional care needs to ensure individuals receive needed services in the least restrictive setting possible.
Our team of Mental Health Professionals, licensed in the state of Kansas, utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach consisting of highly skilled and trained professionals, including master's level psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other mental health professionals. We work together to process Level II evaluation referrals and identify persons with possible SMI or ID/RC and provide comprehensive evaluation prior to admission to nursing facilities or upon significant change in condition for residents within nursing facility settings, including nursing facility for mental health (NFMH) settings. We will manage the annual screens for continued stays (SCS) for NFMH residents in collaboration with local community mental health centers (CMHCs) in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and in alignment with the 1999 U.S. Supreme Court Olmstead decision.
Area Agencies on Aging, Facilities, and Stakeholders
New to PASRR? Your facility or organization may already have an active account in our PASRR Provider Portal. We are happy to assist you with obtaining a new user account, or your organization account, if one does not already exist. Hospitals, nursing facilities (NFs), nursing facilities for mental health (NFMH), local community mental health centers (CMHCs) and the individual Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) will choose one administrator over their PASRR Provider Portal account. These organizations only need to register once and then the administrator over the account will create all additional users.
To register your organization, simply click here to send us an email to initiate access to the PASRR Provider Portal. Have questions? You can also reach us at our contact information found at the bottom of this page for any assistance.
